Second time visitor (if you count a photographer’s special in 2017 as a visit). The train trip was amazing! Rode to the Canyon in the Observation Dome car “Coconino”, where we had fabulous service, and good entertainment from a live musician. The Arizona Room for lunch at the Canyon is a must! Return trip was spent in the Luxury Parlor car “Chief”, again with fantastic service, a toast, and more live music from a different guitarist. We had Nick in the morning, and J.J. in the afternoon.
The train was held up on the return by the “Cataract Creek Gang”, who do a good job at making a general nuisance of themselves in a corny, but highly entertaining way. That goes for the Wild West show before the trip each morning as well. Just wait for Marshal “John B. Goodmore” to save the day. Highly recommend the Grand Canyon Railway. Hotel accommodations in the railroad hotel at Williams is excellent, and the food in the company owned Fred Harvey Restaurant is excellent as well! Will definitely make another trip!
