The train can accommodate a motorized scooter if it is no wider than 25 inches. There is a special lift to lift the scooter onto the train.
Please note: Arizona doesn't observe Day Light Savings and switches between MST (Mountain Standard Time) and PST (Pacific Standard Time) depending on the season.

We hadn’t been on a train before so we opted for first class seats. They gave us snacks in morning and afternoon and entertained us with history, tall tales, music, and even a train robbery by men on horseback. Seats were so comfortable and windows large. We walked the rim for photos and then ate at Bright Angel Lodge.Best day of our trip.

The train is fun for kids. It’s not new and the fun of the “train robbery” was ruined by the repetitive warnings as not to “scare” the kids. The ride was relaxed, and we saw tons of wildlife.

This is a perfect experience for kids! The staff are polite and love to entertain—there are games, joke-telling, and even a staged train robbery with bandits on horseback and everything! The train depot is close to many of the gift shops, restaurants, and lodges at the park, so that’s really convenient. For an adults-only experience, book the domed cars and enjoy a complimentary champagne toast as you ride back to Williams.
