We have visited the Canyon several times but this trip was part of an Amtrak Travel National park Package prepared by Sea Sand Travel.
Once we arrived we were surprised to learn that our trip to the canyon would be headed up by the Diesel Engine but our return the next day would be via the iconic steam engine, which was celebrating the 100 anniversary of the reopening of the Grand Canyon Railroad.
I see many people talk about the train and scenery and accommodations but I rarely see mention of the main ingredient which makes this whole show work. The People who are there to make your experience memorable.
The predeparture show put on by the Cowboys who later rob the train. The engineer and fireman and conductor, who get you safely to your destination and back. Lets not forget the Entertainers on the car during the trip and our wonderful car attendants. Our car attendant was Jennifer and she was the best. She was attentive, helpful, entertaining, a charming hostess and just a joy to be with during the trip up to the canyon. We were especially luck because she worked a day off to be on the return trip the next day.
Almost forgot the Photographer who was there to capture the special moment during the trip. The results of her work show her dedication to the craft.
Thanks to everyone who works for the Grand Canyon Railroad in Williams Az for all the hard work and dedication to your craft.
