The Gypsy Gold Farm

our first forty five minutes is an educational journey conducted by Dennis Thompson, the discoverer and founder of the Gypsy Vanner Horse breed. Dennis and Erin will then introduce you to a Gypsy Vanner stallion and explain the envisioned look and details unique to the Vanner breed. Your second hour is a walk among horse filled paddocks lined with ancient oaks laden with the romantic Spanish moss of the south. On your walk you will meet beautiful stallions and mares and friendly Gypsy Vanner Horse babies. Your Gypsy Gold Farm Tour ends with a picture opportunity with an incredible Gypsy Vanner Horse stallion and a visit to the Gypsy Gold gift shop.

What an amazing morning. The horses are absolutely beautiful. The story that Dennis tells about building the legacy of the Gypsy Vanner horse is interesting and heartwarming. The grounds are amazing and the tour is great. I highly recommend it.

I am a member of the Orlando Camera Club, and the field trip to Ocala to visit the Gypsy Gold Horse Farm was amazing! Dennis and his team were so gracious and accommodating to our photographers and made our visit extra special! The little 9 week old donkey named Patience greeted us, so cute! Then we were lucky to see a brand new colt, only 10 days old….too precious! Dennis and his team then brought out the stallion, “Little Fred” to run in the paddock so we could take action shots….spectacular! Between photo ops we were able to roam and photograph other mares and stallions spread out in various paddocks. I can’t forget “Lucy and Tommy, a young mare and stallion who frolicked and also made beautiful subjects for our club. Dennis gives a wonderful presentation on his life, and what led up to the origin of the GYPSY GOLD HORSE FARM, the Gypsy culture, and how he and his wife came upon these beautiful horses in England, and were the first to bring them to America! If you’re visiting Central Florida, the Gypsy Gold Farm is a must see!! The Orlando Camera Club looks forward to returning again next year!
