Half Day rafting trips on the Lower Animas are incredibly popular for busy schedules. You'll get a couple hours on the water with the best rapid sections.

Plus, our guides are well-trained and absolutely love what they do. You’ll get a hoot out of them as much as they get a hoot out of running this river.

Our family of four (kids 10 & 11) had an excellent 1/2 day trip with Nate and the rest of the crew from Mild to Wild. From beginning to end they made it a fun, safe, and tremendously enjoyable experience with a tailored experience based on our abilities & interests. Nate was very knowledgeable about the Durango / Animas river area and provided insights & recommendations to other outdoor adventures and local activities. The lower Animas rafting itself was mostly a relaxing float with a few small chutes due to the lower water levels in August but it was extremely convenient with only a 5-10 min bus transport to the river drop in location. The lower water levels also meant a bit more time to jump out and let the kids swim and do jumps off the raft. We knew it would be more 'mild' than 'wild' but if you're looking for more than make sure to tell them that up front when booking as the river levels definitely change. Next time we will aim for more class 2-3 rapids if we can. Overall a great trip and Nate (and the other guides) made it extra enjoyable. Highly recommend Mild to Wild and the 1/2 day rafting in Durango.

The trip was a great first time trip for our family of five with 12, 10 and 7 year old boys. We're all ready to take a step up in rapids now. Ashton was a great guide who helped us learn! Highly recommend.

What a fantastic time! Did the half day raft trip on the Animas River. It was my husband, myself, our daughter, son-in-law and our 3 grandchildren (15, 12 and 7). My husband and I have rafted before, the none of the others had. We all had a great time, so much fun even though we had to work some. Our guide Victoria was amazing. She had so much knowledge and she made everyone feel comfortable. I highly recommend Mild to Wild. This is our 2nd time using this company and I cannot recommend them enough. You will not be disappointed!
