This wonderful Colorado River float trip is a gently flowing section that is inviting to all ages. You’ll encounter a few small rapids as the Colorado River winds through the Gore Range and Mountain Ranchland. This is a relaxing day with time to sunbathe, swim or just relax and enjoy the day on your Colorado River rafting trip. The Colorado float half day trip is available two departures per day. This trip departs from our Kremmling Outpost, where you will check in and load an AVA vehicle for the 30-minute drive to the Colorado River. We run from Pumphouse Recreation Area to Radium on this trip.

First of all, I can't blame AVA because of the water, but honestly, this seemed like a trip you'd take a bunch of 4th graders on. No real rapids. I would say what we experienced was maybe half rapids, no Class 1 or Class 2 and the tour advertises. Secondly, I don't call a two hour rafting trip a 'half day'. A 'half day' to me means at least three, maybe four hours. My drive from Denver to Kremmling lasted longer than the ride down the river. Having said that, our guide, Jordan was great.

Hi, We are sorry to hear your float experience did not live up to your expectations. Our scenic float trips are mellow, family-friendly trips with opportunities to experience Colorado's stunning scenery, and the water levels can fluctuate greatly throughout the season. Our time frames include a safety talk from our guides and drive time to/from the water; however, we understand your concern and are discussing this language with our team. Isaiah & the crew did a great job telling us about the area while floating down the river. They all jumped off the cliff. Fun was had by all!

We had a great trip with friends who had not been rafting before. Jackson was our guide and he was terrific. The canyon and scenery were spectacular. My only beef is with the cost and length of the trip. You advertise it as a half day, but the actual rafting was only an hour and fifteen minutes. Not a great value for $90 a person and I think it's very misleading. We can raft for 2 1/2 hours on the Rio Grande in New Mexico for $71 a person.
