The Historic Old Louisville Walking Tour is a guided tour of the largest contiguous collection of Victorian Mansions in the United States! Designed by a prominent local architect and historian, this tour focuses on the history and architecture of this nationally recognized historic preservation district. The tour begins and ends in Central Park's comfortable, temperature-controlled, Frederick Law Olmsted-designed Visitors Center.
Every ticket purchase supports the nonprofit Old Louisville Neighborhood Council, which protects this historic district of Victorian mansions and its streetscapes. Thank you for supporting Historic Preservation! Persons under 17 are free when accompanied by family.

There was a lot of history and claims to fame related to this area. No spoilers here, but suffice to say the walking tour of the blocks of old Victorian homes was very educational. Out tour guide Kelly was very knowledgeable of the area and it’s history, and kept the walk fun and entertaining throughout. Highly recommended activity if you are in the area.

Hi this is Christine Campbell I’m leaving a review for Kelly who is our tour guide at the old Louisville St. James third street mansion area my husband Bob and I just loved the whole tour it was wonderful Kelly was full of information and she’s very charming and best of all at the end she presented us with a couple of ginger ales that we enjoyed immensely so thank you Kelly job well done bye-bye see you next time we come to town

Our tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable about the history of Old Louisville going back to the Southern Exposition and subsequent development of the area with some of the first houses in the US with electricity. She was able to explain the different architectural styles and answer questions about how the neighborhood is maintained today. It’s a very pleasant walk about an hour long. One of the houses on the tour, the Conrad-Caldwell House, is a museum and can also be toured if you have extra time.
