Embark on a small-group, 3-hour whale watching and wildlife sightseeing tour from Hoonah, Alaska in our custom built vessels with heated cabins and restroom. Every season humpback whales come in large numbers to Hoonah to feed on the nutrient-rich waters of Glacier Bay and Icy Strait before migrating south again for the winter. The whale population begins to arrive in Hoonah in May, and stays through September.

Sep 17, 2024. 8 am tour. Sunny day, good for a tour. We saw a bear on the beach, then about 40 min into the tour, we saw plenty of whales. Neat. Our tour guide was awesome. Know how I know? He told us.

This excursion FAR exceeded our expectations! The boat captain was great and taught us a lot about the area as well as the whales. He was very knowledgeable and made it really interesting. The best part of the day was the whales and they put on a show! He guided our boat in the perfect location and we were literally surrounded by beautiful whales, swimming, spouting and even breaching close by! Will never forget it!

We really enjoyed to guides and the information and stories. We were lucky to have good weather and also got to see orcas. My kids enjoyed the experience.
