I’m sure this is a much better tour when it is warm, sunny and dry. I guess my two cents is not so much a review but advice for travelers looking to book this excursion. The provider will not cancel your tour if it is raining. I found the experience to be super stressful in the rain as the horses were climbing and descending hills, and dangerously sliding up and down them.
As travelers who are not used to horseback riding and this activity we wore what we packed- our sneakers. They let you off the horse at the end of the tour to trudge through about 20 feet mud and horse excrement to leave where, if they would have taken care, we could have been left us off at a less muddy area. Again - much better when it is dry and sunny. This extra care and time would have saved us a ton of time and a trip to the laundromat to clean up. So- if you go, pack boots, pants and something long sleeved and warm. Pants and long sleeves are important to protect your legs and arms from the brush on the trail. Definitely do this tour, I am just hoping to give helpful info to the next family.
