Our little cruise was perfect. Our captain (sorry, I’ve forgotten the name—Dan? Jay?) and lovely mate, Jamie, were knowledgeable and comfortable. We found dolphins, who were quite entertaining. I’m not much of a swimmer, so I just watched the snorkeling. Hubby enjoyed his first snorkeling experience, and the other guests also had a blast.
We loved that the number of guests is limited so that there is plenty of room for everyone to relax and to move easily around the boat while the dolphins are cavorting. We both enjoyed a nice cold beer or two on the way back.
While the trip and the boat crew were excellent, the ticketing booth staff could brush up on common courtesy. We were 10 or 15 minutes early, but when they set out their signs and opened the booth, we assumed they were ready for business, but they muttered that the computers weren’t ready yet and told us to come back in 15 minutes. That’s fine. The attitude, however, was not so good. We were tolerated rather than welcomed. They didn’t curse or yell. They just acted a bit cool and irritated, as if we had banged on the window before they opened it. But this was our first visit after all. We don’t know the ropes. We just went by your sign announcing that you were open for business. If you aren’t ready, don’t put out the sign, and NEVER treat a valid and courteous customer like a nuisance.
