I booked lessons for my 10 yo granddaughter and 17 yo Italian exchange student. First, the team inside the store was super friendly and helpful getting us fitted with wetsuits. Be prepared to spend a few extra minutes getting this done: I put mine on backwards the first time LOL. It's a 5+ minute walk from the shop to the beach and we scoped out the places we wanted to eat along the way after the lesson. Next, on the beach the instructors were very clear in their instructions and gave a warm up stretching session then mounting and paddling the board lessons on the beach. Very helpful! Finally, into the surf. It was a pretty windy day and one of the managers came by our group to offer a reschedule if we though the surf was too rough; glad they were concerned for us but the girls wanted to go out and give it a try. Glad they did! They had a blast!!! The instructor, Dan H. was right by their side in the the waves giving tips and coaching and the girls were thrilled when they made it to the water's edge without falling!!
Special note: I also had booked my 5yo grandson for the lesson but his dad and I agreed the waves were probably too much for him so we took the option to reschedule him another time. When we returned to the shop to change/return wetsuits, the staff were very friendly and processed this as a credit towards surf lessons another time. Easy peasy!
