Here’s the good stuff: It thoroughly occupied a 7 year old’s time for 3 hours and he loved it. Probably the race car build & test area was his favorite. The 3 level play area seemed to be a hit with all the kids frantically playing (must have socks). The 4D movie was short and sweet, pretty fun though. There are prior complaints about too much water being sprayed on you. Either they fixed that or I just didn’t mind it. The mini city display area was cool to look at for 15min or so. The whole place was very clean! It definitely does not have the amusement park feeling, but it also doesn’t feel like a cheesy mall store either. Another cool area was in the gift store. There’s a station where you custom build 3 figures out of a bunch of parts, then purchase them if you want.
Here’s the bad. The one ride where you shoot lasers at stuff was broke the day we went (not cool). The other ride is totally lame for a kid over the age of 4. That’s it for rides. The workshop with the Master LEGO Builder didn’t have enough work stations, it filled up quick and we didn’t get to do it. We didn’t try the cafe because the prices. I’d recommend eating before going here. The staff was unenthusiastic. Mostly 18ish year old kids with no customer service initiative who treat this like any other mall job. We go there at noon on a Saturday, not too busy. We left at 3pm, it was getting very busy and a little crowded. THE PRICE IS TOO HIGH FOR ADULTS. We bought tickets online ahead of time to save money. Still a rip off for adult tickets. And even worse, was buying the kids “Extra Value Package”. You pay $5 more and you get a lame keychain or magnetic figure. The price tag on those items were $5. So don’t buy the package, just decide if you want to buy the cheap things when you get there.
All in all, the 7 year old had a great time, so 3 stars.
