The rides, music, and Lego theme are fun, but the overall experience sucks - everything is designed to extract maximum cash from park attendees while providing a minimum level of service in return. The park and hotel feel understaffed and overpriced.
The new water playground is not a pleasant experience. We set an alarm and woke up early to make a reservation (which is required to get a 20 minute slot in the water park) for 12pm, and planned our day around the water playground as to when we would get changed in and out of swimsuits. When we showed up for our 12pm slot after getting our 3 kids changed into their swimsuits, we found out our reservations had been silently canceled and the water park was closed to be opened at some uncertain time later. Seems the park has been opened now for 12:30 slots, but had no availability for us. Very dissatisfied with this experience - I do not advise including any of the water rides in your plans for the day if you decide to visit, since there is no way to know if you can actually get into the attraction even with a prior reservation.
We ate at the pizza restaurant and purchased a cheese pie and 5 drinks advertised as “coke freestyle” drinks on the menu. However the restaurant only has standard fountain sodas - there are freestyle machines throughout the park, but the $6 drinks you buy in the restaurant can’t be used there - you have to buy the $20 refillable cup instead. When I asked if there was a freestyle machine we could use our restaurant cups at in the restaurant, the staff member at the counter shrugged and said no.
We are also staying at the hotel, and the Lego theming is fun, but the amenities are barebones. The room service menu is very sparse (e.g., no way to order ice creams for the kids - just pizzas and beer/wine on the room service menu). There are no phone numbers to contact anyone or to call a takeout order ahead to the hotel restaurant or bar - everything is via text message, presumably as a cost cutting measure.
The pool has fun Lego bricks in it, but closes early (8pm) and is very crowded, more crowded than I would have thought on a week night in the middle of summer.
The staff is polite, but seems powerless to help. Lots of apologizing for the various ridiculous policies, but no offers to make anything better. I asked the best way to provide constructive feedback and was given a card with QR codes to post a public review on Google and tripadvisor, so here it is.
