Avoid the crowds of the other "cattle boats" in Kona, and enjoy a small-group manta ray snorkeling experience with a maximum of 12 passengers.

This tour departs from Keahou Harbor in South Kona and enjoys a short 5-minute boat ride to our snorkeling site, Manta Village.

Your Captain and snorkel guide will educate you on Kona's famous manta rays and will discuss our safe and humane approach to engaging with the gentle giants.

After entering the water, you'll hold onto our lightboard, with your feet propped up by floatation devices, as the manta rays perform a graceful ballet beneath you. The manta rays filter feed on plankton that naturally gathers at the surface just before sunset, then accumulates underneath our lights. This is an opportunity to enjoy an evening on the water and watch in amazement as the manta rays glide around and dance for you.

Lexy, Justin, Ale, and Sandy were our crew. I will never forget this experience. it has been the highlight of our trip. The crew was helpful and positive. We saw SO MANY Mantas! At least 11! Put your fears aside and just do it… you’re gonna love it! Gentle giants. They don’t bite… they don’t sting…. Book it!

This was truly amazing. We were blessed to see 9 Manta Rays including big Bertha and even one male. It’s magical! And anyone can do it. We had previously done a tour out of the harbor near Kailua and this one was so much better! We spent very little time getting to the Mantas and more time with them as the setup was so much faster. We loved the board/handles method with very easy on/off the boat since it was so cozy. Lexy, Justin, Sandy and Ake made our trip! Lexy was our fab coordinator and Ake narrated on the board and kept us having fun, hooking us up to more boards to draw more Mantas. Sandy and Justin made sure the ride was smooth. We will do this again every trip!!!

Highly Recommend going with Hawaii Oceanic if you have kids! Many of the companies would not let us bring our 6 year old, after watching a video of kids going with Hawaii Oceanic on youtube we were sold. We opted for the earliest time so they would feel the most comfortable getting into the water while it wasn't pitch black out. I was hesitant to book this time as we wanted to see lots of Manta Rays. Our 9 year old stayed back on the boat, but felt ready about half way through and the staff were so patient and accommodating to get her out to the board with us. We ended up seeing 6 different Rays that did a fly by about 20 times. It was the absolute highlight of our 11 days in Kona, if this isn't on your bucket list it should be. We can't say enough good things about this company - our experience with them was a 10/10.
