Not gonna lie—it’s a long ride from Kona. But the bus was comfortable and our initial driver, John, told us so much as we started up. Rob and Jess then picked us up in 4 wheel drive vans. They had excellent energy and information. It was a spectacular adventure and their knowledge and enthusiasm was contagious. And being right above the Keck observatory—wow. Definitely worth doing!

Breathtaking experience being at the top of Mauna Kea. John and James were excellent tour guides giving great information about the history of the island and the different constellations that are visible at the time. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to experience a sunset above the clouds as well as stargaze in a clear night sky.
