We had an unforgettable tour with Mitch. Highly recommend. Thank you Mitch!!! Our tour began at the pick-up spot in Hilo. There was free parking in hotel lot and there was a restroom there. Mitch picked us up and gave us a brief Hilo city tour on the way to Mauna Kea. He is fun and played great driving music. He is very knowledgeable about all things Hawaii. He gave us snacks to help with altitude. Hydrate also ahead of time. Did a stop at the Mauna Kea visitor center first. You can buy souvenirs there, use restroom and walk a little trail. Then he drove us up to the summit. He gave us warm coats and gloves. Definitely use them over your own. We watched the sun set and took a lot of gorgeous photos. We then were treated to the high power telescope and took astrophotos. The tour was worth every penny. We made so many beautiful memories. Loved!!!

Awesome tour! Sunset at the top of the world was absolutely stunning. Our guides (James and Mitch) were very knowledgeable about the area, geology and geography - star gazing was also fantastic - recommend this to anyone!
