Rob and Jess were super friendly tour guides and were fun to talk to. The only thing I’d change is to have more time doing everything, like picking out a spot to watch the sunset, exploring the area near the observatory and watching the stars. Staying hydrated is important but try not to drink too much; I don’t think there are restrooms at the top… maybe use the restroom at the visitor center before going up. I think the gloves I brought weren’t warm enough, what they provided may have been better. Having something to cover your face to keep it warm might help. They had a variety of snacks. Thank you Jess and Rob, the picture of the stars you took were amazing! Best view of the stars and watching the sunset above the clouds in one place - totally worth it.

This is a must-do for anyone visiting the Big Island—a perfect blend of adventure, science, and natural wonder. Highly recommended!
