John is a semi-retired executive and veteran tour guide of Atlanta's historic Oakland cemetery and the Georgia State Capital. John makes the most of that experience with a food tour of mid-town Atlanta. John has lived in mid-town for several years and it shows. The tour is a great combination of a historical and a foody tour. If you looked at all the tour stops on a printed list, you might think "How is this going to work?' But he does a masterful job of weaving it all together. Our tour combined traditional mid-town favorties (with full history lesson), authentic southern cooking, and a few stops combining traditional fare with a modern twists. My wife and I have lived in Atlanta for several years are we thought we knew mid-town Atlanta pretty well. But John showed us several new things, both historical and food-related, that we had no clue about. He a delightful guy with whom to spend an afternoon.

Tom, The only part which is not so true is the "semi-retired" comment! Yikes! I started Peachtree Food Tours thinking that a couple of Tours a month would be great fun, never dreaming that my average is now 4 Tours a week! I have found my niche and am loving every minute of my Midtown adventures!
Thanks for taking a few moments to write such a wonderful review. It's nice to know that you appreciated that this not just a food tour. Lots of restaurant background, lots of humorous stories, all wrapped around an historical perspective of Atlanta and Midtown. Be sure to include some of my neighborhood favorites on your list the next time you and D. head out for a bite!
