Our son gave us gift certificates to the Peachtree Food Tour for Christmas and we had waited until a promise of good weather to make use of them. We were two of a total group of five taking this tour with the other three being ladies visiting from out of town. John provided an interesting mix of information about food/restaurants, local history and general points of interest. He had stories and information about the beautiful St Marks Methodist Church, the Margret Mitchell house, old mansions that used to line Peachtree Street, and numerous other topics. Of course, the tour revolved around food and we had plenty of that, and in several different styles and forms. From burger and fries ( Cypress Pint & Plate), to Shrimp and Grits (Einsteins), Bruschetta (Princi Italia), a choice of deserts (Café Intermezzo) and ending with a “surprise” that I won’t spoil by naming here. Each course was accompanied by a matching beverage and we enjoyed excellent service by the wait staff and management at every stop. All in all, it was an excellent way to spend a day while eating entirely too much delightful food. Well done John!

Hi Mike! I am still grinning about your comment re: Bonaire! Nope! It does not seem to have a Food Tour! And you're the man that could certainly fix that! Plus you two have been there so many times that you could probably claim to be locals!! And...I just might fly down there with you guys and serve as an advisor...FREE! The truth be told, over the past 2 1/2 years, I have had at least 6 of my guests engage me in serious conversation about starting a Food Tour in their cities! If you think going on a foodie adventure like mine is great fun, you ought to be the guide!! I have the best job...ever!!! TA readers: Please know that at least 80% of my guests have never been on a Food Tour! Really!! But I'll bet you that they all will be scheduling a Food Tour where ever it is that they travel next. This is a very fun and informative tour! John is a lively guide with a wealth of information to share. Even as a native Atlantan, I learned a lot about the history of Midtown. This would be a great tour to take out of town guests. The amount of food was surprisingly filling, we were definitely stuffed by the end. Fun way to spend a day in Atlanta, would definitely recommend this tour!

My Peachtree Food Tour is designed to entertain not only visitors to Georgia but also those folks that have lived here for years! Learn about restaurants! Taste some foods that you may never have ordered! Take home recipes for drinks you can dazzle your friends with! And...spend a few hours grinning at all of the historical tidbits that you had no idea about!! (90% of the curbs on Peachtree Street in my neighborhood are made from what??!!) A "fun way to spend a day"!! Yep! ...and then there's all that food!! Thanks again! My best! John

We live in Atlanta and wanted to experience a few new sites in the city. We signed up for John's Peachtree Food Tour, and we were not disappointed. John is a wonderful host. He has lots of historical stories to share about our great city, especially Midtown. And the food and drinks were all outstanding. We highly recommend this tour to fellow Atlantans as well as anyone visiting our Atlanta. And be sure to show up hungry. You'll be stuffed at the end of the tour.

"Be sure to show up hungry!" TA readers: That's some real good advice! I'm not the "taste" guy...I'm the "portion" guy! All food tours are different (and there's a huge bunch of good ones out there!) as I try to explain to my guests at the first restaurant stop, "You know how much you can eat so pace yourself. Don't go home holding your belly as you look for a quick place to lie down and take a nap!" Robert, Thanks for the terrific review! You could actually make the first sentence in your review factual...if you'd move to my lovely neighborhood. Now wouldn't that be some fun! Say Hello! to Mrs. P! I'd love to see you two again...leading 2 - 3 cars of your friends my way so I can convince all of you to move into Midtown! :) My best to you both! John
