This was the most exhilarating experience! Our captain Jonathan was the absolute best. Ask for him. Not only was the ride smooth and amazing. They also provided breakfast with a champagne toast. I was celebrating my birthday and two other couples their anniversary. They provided cake for us to celebrate. Best experience and company!

We finally scheduled a hot air balloon excursion on this trip to Phoenix and it was worth every penny. We were lucky enough to get the highly experienced Captain John Bagwell and Cloverz headed our flight crew to make this a magnificent day we will always remember (my wife, adult son and I). This group knows what it’s doing, from their advanced communications, travel to takeoff, unloading, inflating the balloon, of course the desert flight near Cave Creek, AZ, a soft landing, champagne toast and mimosas, with a delicious quiche for breakfast before the ride back to the airport. Cloverz had to do some fancy driving with the ground crew while Captain Bagwell was able to answer every question we threw at him. If you’ve ever thought about a hot air balloon trip, do it with Hot Air Expeditions. We hope to return in November or March for a sundown trip eventually.

Our pilot, Don G., has 39 years of experience in hot air balloons plus more experience in other aircraft. He is professional and attentive throughout the experience, from pre-flight to post flight. The ground crew, headed by Mike, is efficient in preparing the balloon for flight as well as setting up the post flight celebration.
