Real deal guided whitewater rafting through the spectacular New River Gorge National Park. Another notch on your bucket list - or become a whitewater frequent paddler! Class III/IV rapids provide excitement and a trip you will never forget. Amazing scenery, high adventure, no experience required, trips run March through October each year. Day trips meet at 9 AM and include a riverside catered lunch break at the halfway point. Short on time? Try the Afternoon Express run, meeting 3 PM daily.

We had the most amazing time with this rafting company. We were immediately met with big smiles and encouraging words to be adventurous, and changed our raft trip from the family option to the higher rapids. We were nervous, but had the best support from staff. Our guide, Steven, gave us the best support and encouragement. We laughed and prevailed many rapids together and had a great time. All of the staff is friendly and clearly just wants to see their guests have fun. These people are passionate about what they do and want to share it with you! Thanks again WVA, and big thanks to Steven! Highly recommend these guys.

We had a great time from beginning to end. The staff at West Virginia Adventures were all very helpful and answered all of our questions. Our guide, Crock, was the best I've had. He checked our gear carefully and gave detailed and easy to understand safety instructions. He explained the paddle commands he used and they made our trip go pretty smoothly. I was amazed at the rapids we went through and the size of the waves! He explained how we would approach each rapid and what he needed us to do to get where we wanted to go. The result was a thrilling day of paddling while seeing beautiful scenery in the river gorge. Crock also entertained us on the bus rides and on the water with stories, jokes and tall tales. It was a was a wonderful experience for a group of retirees!

I’ve rafted the Gauley and the Ocoee several times and have worked with various companies in the past. This outfitter was great from start to finish and one of the best. Communication was easy and just frequent enough, directions were easy to follow, pricing was more than fair, trip descriptions were accurate, equipment was in good shape, bus driver Terry was incredibly nice, guide Crock was hilarious and very knowledgeable about the history of the river, and the entire staff was so polite. Great “small” business to support! Would absolutely use again.
