My wife and I have been looking into a weekend trip to NOLA for some time and we both wanted to include a tour of some sort. After a good bit of research and some recommendations from numerous hotels we decided to go for the City Tour with Celebration and didn't regret it!
From the very beginning I was put at ease by the friendliness of the Customer Service when I called in to enquire about what they offer. I booked our place over the phone and was given a specific time for when they would pick us up at our hotel on the day of the tour. I called to reconfirm the morning of and everything was set.
A little before we were due to be picked up, Ozzy Jr called to make sure we knew where he was and we went from there. A group of 8 of us in total he then proceeded on a 3 hour tour around various parts of the city, including the French Quarter right the way out to Lake Lawn Cemetery and Lake Pontchartrain, taking in some of the Garden District, Treme and areas that were hit by Katrina, some of which still bear the scars.
Throughout the tour, Ozzy was informative, friendly and had a great way of getting across how the city has changed and how people have survived some of the worst things mother nature can conjure, himself included. He has a depth of knowledge that withstands the more inquisitive and his answers are easy to digest.
In the middle of the tour we stopped at the City Park Sculpture Garden which is stunning! If we had a little more time we'd definitely go back there to spend a little more time. A quick coffee and beer later, we were back in the van and heading back into town, via some of the more lucrative/famous areas.
With the option of being dropped off back at your hotel or anywhere en route, it's a great way to have seen parts of the city you wouldn't think to access and great flexibility when heading back.
The entire tour was great and I can't recommend Celebration enough, a definite must do and a bargain at $49 per person! Thanks to all, particularly Ozzy Jr
