Due to long queues and travel time between venues, it is not humanly possible to use the pass enough to save money. If you just go queue up and pay regular price you will actually pay less than if you use the the city pass. The pass is not you ticket to a lot of sights. You have to queue to use the pass to get a ticket and the wait in line with everyone else. There is no advantage to this scam.

Use the subway and Uber. Then you save 75 per head. With tax is 3 at 249 with 2 trips on bus. One to statue of liberty. That to me paid for it. You can't get on them there to many people on them so you stand in line. We got on subway. Down load app for subway. Then uber. As for NYC the City. We loved it. Most of them were great. 98 percent of the people were awsome . Going back soon.

We bought these passes before we visited the US and printed them off. You do have the option of an electronic ticket but we didn't want to risk them not loading up. The pass enables you to go straight to the security checks at the empire state building and you can visit twice on the same day, once during the day then again at night after 8pm in September. The pass also gave us the admission to a show at the history museum, we chose the space show which was brilliant. At the statue of liberty, you need to queue for a ticket with your pass but they have specific booths that citypass holders go to so that didn't take long. We thought we'd need to queue at the 9/11 museum and when we got there the queue was so long that we nearly turned around, luckily we didn't as we asked someone who pointed us to some other doors and we were straight in with our passes. We were able to book some advance tickets for sunset with our citypass for the top of the rock. We didn't get to spend much time at the met museum so if we didn't have this pass we probably wouldn't have gone, but we are glad we did. Overall, I recommend this pass to those who want to see the main attractions but aren't spending much time in new york (we were there for 3 days).
