If you're keen to ditch the pace, craze and expense of Manhattan to experience the character, diversity, history, affordability and great food options of Brooklyn, this is the tour to take!
Our personable, informative, well-read, story-telling guide, Angelo Warren, kept us rapt throughout the 3 hours of walking the quaint streets south of Brooklyn Heights, in/around the Cobble Hill area. Angelo enthralled us with stories -- the building of the Brooklyn Bridge, development of Brooklyn's character, from home of the working class to A-list actors. Known and loved by many locals, Angelo is what made this tour super interesting.
Then there's the food! Oh, yum! We were treated to fine French croissants in one bakery, delicate, delicious cookies in another. Bagel with cream cheese and smoked salmon from an Eastern European deli, meat-filled pastries and baklava from a Middle Eastern deli, a pizza slice from a 700° degree coal-fired oven. Chocolate tasting rounded out the tour, all well-spaced with bathroom-breaks and walking enough to digest between courses.
We can't recommend this tour enough!
