Our driver/tour guide was Kanamu. My husband and I really appreciated learning of her culture and the history of the islands. She had a map as visual aid that helped. She even sang a song to us!
Kanamu was great when she picked us up because she had a list of passengers and called them out - there were a lot of people waiting for bus rides. She lessened the confusion with her take charge personality.
On the North Shore we saw 5 sea turtles swimming (large shapes in the water) and one washed up on the beach! It was a highlight of our trip, and we wouldn't have seen it and gotten pictures without this bus trip!
We enjoyed getting to know other passengers and learning where they were from. I think we were on the same bus that another reviewer expressed complaints. Being from Michigan, we did not feel that it was "freezing" on the bus, but I think one's temperature experience may be relative to where they are from. It was a cooler, overcast day, and windy on the beach. Be sure to consult weather predictions ahead of time. I do agree the bus sound system should be checked because it was static-y. My only other suggestion, I would have liked a just little less time inside the plant itself, and more on the North Shore, but we still enjoyed the trip immensely. We liked that we learned, could relax, and did not have to drive and contend with traffic ourselves.
