This tour only runs in the winter months from Sept 1st through May 1st. This trip will be focused on the Aurora Borealis aka Northern Lights. It offers some of the most amazing views that Mother Nature offers. There is no disappointments on this trip as you will return home with those ultimate memories and photographs of a lifetime! Our trips are not fast and quick as we love watching the lights too! Expect hours of fun, great conversation and learning how to photography the lights.

For photographing the Northern Lights we highly suggest a DSLR camera with a lens that is capable of at least a f/2.8 18-35mm and a decent tripod for best pictures. The Northern Lights can be photographed with smartphones as well. But know that due to taking a time exposure, your best results will be with a DSLR camera. It can be cold (below zero), so be sure to dress appropriately for the weather conditions and have an extra camera battery. The cold temperatures can drain a battery quickly.

This tour was GREAT - we went way out of Anchorage to see the Auroras. The ride was easy and pleasant. Our tour guide Justin was great - lots of knowledge and very personable. We got amazing star views, pics of the Milky Way Arm, spotted Jupiter, and got some photos of the Northern Lights - they weren't visible to the naked eye which we understood is a think - but the pics showed them in SPADES. Justin was patient and took great photos for all of us - this tour was a real highlight of our trip. Expectations have to be balanced as the amazing pictures people expect to see are rare. That said, we got green and pink aurora bands - it was great!!!

Scott was amazing. He made sure that everyone had an experience of a lifetime. He is very knowledgeable and made sure that we all got amazing pictures.

Scott is an excellent guide and will teach you everything about the Northern lights and how to capture the perfect moment. He will take you out to the least light polluted area with a clear view. Now, the key is to catch it. Mid-April can truly be a hit or miss due to the 16+ hours of daylight. Regardless, of Scott having a running van blasting with heat, the outside is still very cold so come prepared. Note: bring a nice, high resolution camera with you as its phenomenal what you can do with a camera. Yes, modern iPhones and Androids are good, but if you have it - bring it. And avoid liquids; after all, you’re in the middle of nowhere.
