Went on this tour last week and was generally good fun.
We felt the second half was definitely better than the first. The first couple of stops weren’t too interesting really, but Flushing was good and the highlight was Bushwick. Murals there were great and were some good places to get lunch. The drive through Williamsburg very interesting!
Jorge the guide was excellent, he was humerous and gave some very interesting information and facts. But had a big problem with him asking for a tip when we decided to leave the tour at the Brooklyn bridge (we were staying nearby). We told him this so the bus didn’t wait for us, and he asked if we’d ‘like to participate in the American tradition of tipping’. If he wouldn’t have asked I may have done, but honestly it felt like begging and it felt distasteful, especially when people are already paying a lot of (probably too much in all honesty) money to go on this tour. I told him no and his whole demeanour changed and he said ‘OK, I’ll tell the driver’. Bit of a disappointing end to the trip for us!
First half needs to be more interesting and tour guides need to not ask for a tip, which we perceived as being very rude!
