wonderfull experience, you should take the tour in teh weekend. All teh locals are in the park
How good was this. Central Park is amazing. We rode around on Easter Saturday and there were joggers and people everywhere. It is hard to fathom how big it is. Make sure you grab some locks for your bike as quite a lot of the park is for pedestrians only. Brilliant fun
I would have to say using Viator for the NYC Central Park Bike Rentals and Top of the Rock were two of the worst experiences I have ever encountered in my years of traveling. Their promises of expedited entry is a scam. What you receive is a voucher which you need to redeem at your destination for an actual ticket or rental, which means you still have to wait in the same line as everyone else. We waited 45 minutes to get bikes we "prepaid". This rental facility was obviously unequipped for the volume of people that day, and instead of turning people away, the line just kept getting longer. They ran out of helmets and locks before then ran out of bikes (which are part of the rental fee). I had to go back to the counter to insist they find both for us (do not bike ride in NY without a helmet!) and FYI, instead of taking a security deposit for the equipment as most places do, you have to leave either your license, passport or a credit card, which they put in a binder and leave laying on the counter! They also start your time meter as soon as you get your ticket. When I went back to the counter for the helmets they said they would reset my starting time by the 20 minutes I had been waiting for the bike after redeeming my voucher. I would have been charged a late fee had I not known that, as kept the bikes the full 3 hours we rented them for! We are going to Italy in the fall and I wanted to test Viator in NY first to see if they were all they advertise to be. They are a far cry from it. Using Viator will definitely take away from your overall great experience traveling.
