As a lifelong New Yorker, it's sometimes hard to find new things to love about NYC - esp. in the cold of winter! But, I've recently been on a kick of learning more about Revolutionary War history, and Karen's tour is a well-researched, engaging, though-provoking journey through NYC's fascinating history during the Revolution. You have to use your imagination a bit to try to picture lower Manhattan the way it looked 240 years ago, but Karen brings with her a bunch of helpful maps, drawings and reprints of old broadsides and pamphlets which really bring the period alive. Moreover, Karen is incredibly knowledgeable, able to answer just about any question about the period and explain exactly what New York was like during those turbulent years.
For anyone looking to experience the rich history of New York - even those who've lived here their whole lives - this is highly recommended!
