I've taken one previous tour with Untapped Cities of the Ellis Island Hospital, which was a wonderful experience. I was very disappointed with the Tour of Grand Central Terminal. First off we started at Track 29 that was very loud and made hearing the guide difficult and also made people are repeated questions, which was annoying. Secondly we were only admitted to public areas, there were no parts to this tour where the group was allowed into restricted or truly underground areas. The guide didn’t know about facts that knowledgeable guests shared and didn’t even know about some items along the tour. I felt as if most of the shared information would be available online and did not feel either personal or insightful. I think it is important for untapped cities to partner with the locations that they tour to offer a truly unique experience.

Hi Yotam, thank you very much for taking the time to leave a review and explaining what you think we could have done better. Since we did not deliver on your expectations I will fully refund your ticket. While our tours specialize in bringing guests to places which are usually off-limits to the public (Woolworth Building, Ellis Island Abandoned Hospital...), Grand Central Terminal is very strict about access and no longer allows any tours to go behind-the-scenes to places like the M-42 Basement, the abandoned FDR train car or the glass walkways. Our tour does talk about these places though and the role they played in Grand Central Terminal's history and in the case of the glass walkways we even bring you to the door which leads to it and allow you to peek through it which is as close as you can get since security got tighter. We are updating our tour description on our website to make sure it is very clear and that everybody knows that these places are simply not accessible to anyone. As for the sound level at the beginning of the tour, our guide will now be equipped with a small amplifier which will make it much easier for him to be heard in case go great affluence inside Grand Central Terminal. Thank you again for leaving a review and helping us improve our tour.
