We have a moderate level of kayaking experience. The 2 seater kayaks were a fun way for our family to have some good quality bonding time. We have 2 sons (ages: 20 and 15) and we love nature and wildlife.
There were total of 4 kayaks in our group, and B.A. was our guide. I don't think that the other family had any kayaking experience, but they managed just fine after a little bit of instruction on the beach.
Coolest part: we felt like we were swimming with the sea lions. It was fun to see them pop up a few feet away from the kayak. So much different seeing them from that vantage point than just laying about sunning themselves. Don't get me wrong, that's still fun, but this was better.
Based on the surf that day, we were unable to enter the caves safely, but we were still content with the tour. Our guide shared some great stories and info about the caves.
We rented wetsuits and lockers when we arrived. Check-in for the tour was easy. The staff was helpful about parking: just park in the residential area across the street. It's free and easy.
I called to book our tour instead of booking on-line. They basically gave me the same price as the groupon price without having to ask.
