The Original Sea Cave Kayak Tour (90 Minutes in Length) offers unforgettable guided tours through the La Jolla Ecological Reserve. Each tour is lead by experienced guide(s) who ensure participants safely navigate through the unique ecological habitats while seeing different types of marine life.

This highly-protected and unique area boasts one of the highest concentrations of sea-life in the West Coast. Guests commonly encounter seals, sea lions, and a multitude of birds and fish, and lucky guests might even see dolphins or whales!

Towards the southern end of the Ecological Reserve, La Jolla's Seven Sea Caves patiently await, allowing participants to witness their beauty. Weather permitting, participants can kayak through the large sea cave that goes from the ocean into the Emerald Cove.
Entry into the Emerald Cave depends on the safety, and is not guaranteed. Participants must be five years or older to participate in the tour.

Valid for up to two people to ride in a double kayak.

Only thing we really saw were leopard sharks, and a couple sea lines pop up, which we could’ve saw on the shore.

Truly disappointed that we did not see the cave, as I though we would. We only kayaked in La Jolla Cove. This said, the two guides were great at explaining how special the La Jolla cove is for the marine life. We got to see seals and dolphins, swimming all around us and as close as two feet from our kayaks. The guides pointed where we could go after to see sea lions, seals, pelicans, cormorans, etc - make time to go, as it is well worth it. The sea was a bit rough to enter and exit. Be prepared to get wet - a wet suit is a must and well worth the rental cost. Same for your electronics/cameras - make sure they are in a good sealed container.

Excellent tour with Toumas and Veronika. We saw sea lions, leopard sharks, and many dolphins. It was chilly but the water was calm and the wet suits made a big difference. Highly recommend this tour.
