The Original Sea Cave Kayak Tour (90 Minutes in Length) offers unforgettable guided tours through the La Jolla Ecological Reserve. Each tour is lead by experienced guide(s) who ensure participants safely navigate through the unique ecological habitats while seeing different types of marine life.

This highly-protected and unique area boasts one of the highest concentrations of sea-life in the West Coast. Guests commonly encounter seals, sea lions, and a multitude of birds and fish, and lucky guests might even see dolphins or whales!

Towards the southern end of the Ecological Reserve, La Jolla's Seven Sea Caves patiently await, allowing participants to witness their beauty. Weather permitting, participants can kayak through the large sea cave that goes from the ocean into the Emerald Cove.
Entry into the Emerald Cave depends on the safety, and is not guaranteed. Participants must be five years or older to participate in the tour.

Valid for up to two people to ride in a double kayak.

We only did this to kayak in the caves and we never ended up doing so. They had us kayak around them. We sat around bobbing in the water a lot getting nauseous and not being able to hear the guides talking about the marine life. They also charge you $6 for a rusty small locker so if you’re a couple you need 2. Then if it’s cold you have to pay to rent wet suits so everything adds up fast. We could have rented kayaks on our own to have done what we did.

Kayak over to look at cliffs…and some caves. Everything viewed from quite a distance. Not interesting or engaging…I would not do this tour again.

Thank you for your review. We are sorry you were unable to approach the caves safely during your tour. We work very closely with local lifeguards and they released a "Hazard Alert" and asked all of the companies to keep a safe distance from all caves and rock structures. We train our guides to respond to lifeguard instruction and to keep all of our guests safe from dangerous currents, breaking waves and sharp rocks. We had a wonderful time kayaking! The crew members throughout the whole store were very helpful and friendly! Our tour guides Brody and Collin told us lots of interesting facts show us many things . We would recommend everyday California!
