The Original Sea Cave Kayak Tour (90 Minutes in Length) offers unforgettable guided tours through the La Jolla Ecological Reserve. Each tour is lead by experienced guide(s) who ensure participants safely navigate through the unique ecological habitats while seeing different types of marine life.

This highly-protected and unique area boasts one of the highest concentrations of sea-life in the West Coast. Guests commonly encounter seals, sea lions, and a multitude of birds and fish, and lucky guests might even see dolphins or whales!

Towards the southern end of the Ecological Reserve, La Jolla's Seven Sea Caves patiently await, allowing participants to witness their beauty. Weather permitting, participants can kayak through the large sea cave that goes from the ocean into the Emerald Cove.
Entry into the Emerald Cave depends on the safety, and is not guaranteed. Participants must be five years or older to participate in the tour.

Valid for up to two people to ride in a double kayak.

Incredible morning! Saw leopard sharks, sea lions, the sea caves, and orange Garibaldi - the state fish of CA. Robbie was fun and shared great facts. Kenzie was nice and helpful.

Our guides Christian and Devon were excellent. Lots of stories along the way with lots of enthusiasm. We didn’t go into the cave because of some rough water near the site, but we were ok with that. It is a workout so be ready to work. It wasn’t scary once were were out. Getting off the kayaks was a little rough. Our family has older teens so we all did singles.

You would think that a "Sea Cave Kayak Tour" would include a sea cave. In my case, you would be wrong. The guides didn't permit us to go in the sea cave, not because it was unsafe, but because there wasn't enough time. Why wasn't there enough time to visit the star attraction? Unclear. Perhaps because we had to wait for people who were late, which their website said they wouldn't do. Then, when I asked for a partial refund to make up for the fact that their sea cave tour did not include a sea cave, I was resolutely ignored. The guides themselves were great, I'm sure they waited because management told them to wait. But there are several other companies that provide sea cave tours. I wish I had picked one of them.

To be clear, we only avoid the caves when they are too dangerous to enter according to lifeguards or first-hand experience during our tours. We are not permitted to hold tours back for late customers and a lack of time is generally not a reason to skip on cave access. It sounds like we dropped the ball when you were here and you were not provided the customer service you deserve.
