On our tours, we share stories from history and even do some plant foraging so you can eat along the trail!

We skip the highway and take advantage of the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway as we venture into the woodlands en route to some of the BEST waterfalls in Asheville! You'll leave with a stick in your hair and unforgettable memories.

As a solo traveler I wanted to do some easy hiking, but with others, so I found Asheville Hiking Tours on the Explore Asheville website and so glad I did! From the moment I booked the tour to the actual hike they were professional, accommodating and friendly! Katy was our guide for a small group of 4. She was warm, friendly, reassuring and knowledgeable of the Pisgah Forest, Blue Ridge Parkway and surrounding area. The pace was good, but when the two older members of the group had to pause a bit, Katy was gracious enough to wait for us to catch up;-) Snacks and water were provided and we even had time to check out an additional waterfall! I highly recommend this outfitter and Katy! When returning to Asheville, I will definitely book another tour with Asheville Hiking Tours! They are truly terrific in every way!!! Thanks Katy!!!!

I hired Jennifer to lead our group of 10 on the Rattlesnake Lodge hike. She has a warm, welcoming presence -- and is SUPER knowledgeable about the biodiversity and history of the area. Jennifer has her PhD - which is very impressive. We had a wonderful time during our hike -- and everyone loved being snuggled in the gorgeous mountains. Jennifer provided snacks, water + walking poles for us. We went at a good pace, waiting sometime for the slower group to catch up. We felt the time was very informative + interesting. Thank you so much, Jennifer!

We booked a private tour for Labor Day. Jennifer was very accommodating, since we booked the tour less than 48 hours in advance. We were three adults and one 5 lbs Maltese puppy :-) We got picked up at our hotel a little before 9am and had the pleasure to meet our wonderful tour guide, Randy! Randy is a pool of knowledge! He provided us with so much information about the area, its history, the falls, and the different plants and trees we saw on our way. We loved the different overlooks, the falls, and the hiking trails! It was a beautiful morning! Oh, and did I mention the organic snacks as we started our tour ;-) The private hiking tour made our first visit to Ashville even more memorable! I highly recommend a private tour!
