Absolutely a "must do" whether you're a local or when visiting the area! From the initial greeting by Melissa, the gracious co-owner, to the super friendly deck hands, we felt welcomed and well cared for on board. They made everything look effortless to give us a smooth ride. This was the perfect way to relax with the ocean breezes, and breathe in beautiful sights of the Salem Sound as we headed out to the Atlantic, passing the neighboring Marblehead coastline.
This schooner has a great back story - (you'll have to board to hear it) and is immaculate. Special guest crew member and lifetime local, Bernie, was on hand to also share local history with Captain Ed which made the sail more than "just a boat ride". One of the guests was THE most adorable young boy who, when asked to help the crew with the ropes, gave all the guests a wonderful experience reminding us of the wonder, and to be in awe of the simple life moments that make great lifetime family memories.
I took my nieces (then 3 and 5) on this schooner in 2004 over the Fourth of July weekend. To this day they remember that special time. For this ride, my friend (75) said it was "the perfect way to spend the morning, wish it could have been all day!" So it's the right fit for fun at any age.
Can't wait to return this summer for another sail - this time maybe at sunset with my sweetie! In the meantime, if anyone has any hesitation about booking a sail, this picture with my nieces may make you leave this page and "click" reserve now.
Remember to reserve a table at Finz after sailing ... the perfect ending to a perfect sail!
