Mike was a good guide and made the trip. He was engaging, attentive and tailored our stops to our needs and wishes. It was a nice tour and way to see a good part of the island and we'd do it again with him.

Ask for Mike!!! Best day of the trip by far. Best guide ever. Mike is incredible - he made our entire trip. He gave us the best experience on the road to Hana! It doesn’t get better than Mike.

We had an amazing adventure, exploring the rain forest along our road to Hana tour! Mike picked us up from our hotel and we immediately started our journey. He asked us about our expectations and what we hoped to see. What we really liked was that Mike heard us and individualized our experience. That is why a private tour is so worth it. Mike explained the history of the road to Hana in terms of Hawaiian culture as well as the magic of a rain forest. More than just trees, the rain forest is a sustaining ecosystem. It is self-sustaining while it nourishes those who live in it. We especially appreciated Mike's vast knowledge of the trees and plants and got to experience how to live off of the land in this magical rain forest. We stopped frequently so that Mike could show us unique plants, trees (such as the rainbow eucalyptus) and their fruits (papayas, pink bananas, mangoes, strawberry guava and many more). We were able to sample these. Citrus was in season and we had oranges (with permission from Uncle) right off of the tree. The waterfalls were spectacular (and we even swam in one). We stopped at Halfway to Hana and were treated to homemade banana bread. Mike kept drinks for us in the van as well. We stopped at a black sand beach and other beautiful beaches. Mike captured our adventure on GoPro (which we received the chip from at the end of the trip). We liked how he also interacted with people we met along the Road to Hana. He offered to take photos at spectacular spots for them when he saw them struggling. We thought that was special. We stopped at a chocolate makers to sample and purchase local chocolate and tea. In Hana, Mike identified our interest in health care and showed us where residents receive health care. In Hana, we were treated to succulent barbecue ribs at Braddah Hutts BBQ Grill. The ribs were fall off of the bone perfect and the owners so welcoming. Mike embodied the spirit of 'Ohana. He shared how he is tied to the land and the people of Maui, doing his best to support friends following the devastating fire in Lahaina. Mike truly loves his island home and was proud to share its culture and beauty with us. Thank you for an unforgettable trip, Mike!
