Regardless of your experience level, desires or goals there is a fantastic rock climbing trip ready and waiting for you!!! The 4-Hour Trip is great for people who want to focus on rock climbing. Typically, we keep the approaches short and visit only 1-2 rock formations so that we spend the bulk of your trip climbing as many routes as possible!

I was referred to Stone Adventures by a fellow guide service in the JT area after they were all booked up. The initial planning and correspondence with Annie and Aron in reserving the trip was seamless. I did a half-day family climbing trip with my 12 and 15 year old. We had some gym experience but nothing in the outdoors and this could not have a better outing. We met our guide Tamas, and a short drive later to an off-the-beaten-path part of the park, where it was just us and a perfect climbing wall to cut our teeth on. After some instruction on knots, harnesses and safety, we each took turns on 3 different routes. Tamas was a wealth of experience and knowledge. His encouragement and climbing techniques helped immensely as we navigated the wall. I was especially appreciative of his first responder skills in helping to recover my iPhone after I dropped it into the black abyss between some boulders. After topping out on the routes, we finished off the day by moving to another nearby location and climbing one last route. I highly recommend an experience with these guys as it is personal, professional and a great way to introduce the sport to a bunch of novices like us.

My wife and I are indoor climbers and have only dabbled in outdoor climbing; however, we want to take up outdoor climbing and get more involved in the sport. On a recent trip to Palm Springs, we decided it was the best time to do just that. We contacted Stone Adventures and they linked us up with our guide Greg Petliski. We met up with Greg early in the morning and he proceeded to lead us through a number of classic routes in the Joshua Tree area. Greg was nothing short of amazing - he was organized, highly knowledgeable, put safety first, and listened carefully to learn about the type of experience we wanted - he designed the day around our interests, skills, and wants. Moreover, Greg gave us lots of tips regarding outdoor climbing and provided background information about the surrounding geography/geology of the area. My wife and I were both a little nervous at times, but Greg walked us through all safety procedures/protocol and made us feel very comfortable/safe. Lastly, Greg was a super positive and just a real great guy to hang out with for the day - i do not think we could have received a better introduction to outdoor climbing. We will definitely use Stone Adventures again - hope to climb with Greg again!

As a mid-level climber for many years, I wanted to check out the classic routes at J Tree. Greg from Stone Adventures quickly assessed my skills and customized the day to best fit my needs. During our 4 hour excursion, we hopped on 5-6 classic routes that gave me a great sense of what J Tree has to offer. Greg was knowledgeable and personable - I had a terrific day!
