This tour combines true tales from Salem’s past with some mild ghost stories just for kids age 6+. Our aim is not to scare the heck out of your kids, but to provide a little shiver and bit of mystery for kids who like ghost stories. We are also telling you intriguing historical facts as well. This tour follows a route that is near the downtown, but it’s a little off the beaten path, very picturesque, and you’ll feel as if you stepped back in time. The tour ends at our historic and creepy Broad Street Cemetery, which was established in 1655. Meets at 316 Essex Street.
For over twelve years, parents traveling with kids have chosen Salem Kids Tours for a fun, well-researched and fascinating trip through time. We cross streets, navigate over uneven pavement and bricks, and climb a small hill to get into the Broad Street Cemetery. Wheelchair users will not be able to access our final stop.

Enter if you dare! Visit the final resting spot of many Salem people of note, and surround yourself with the mystery of Salem's second oldest (1655) Christian burial ground. (Note that this stop is challenging/impossible to access for those on wheels. If you use a walker or wheelchair, this stop is not accessible).

The tour guide/owner was energetic and great with the kids. It was the perfect length to keep their attention. Very informative and interesting. A little different information than the usual adult tours

We loved our tour with Alicia! We were travelling with our 3 kids (6, 3, and under 1) and wanted to give them a little background on Salem. I was worried about how to talk about the witch trials with my kids, as they are young, but Alicia did a flawless job. They had a better understanding of the area and all of us enjoyed our entire trip more as a result. Highly recommend this tour if you are travelling with young kids, especially if you can go early in your trip so your kids have some background!

Thank you so much! My mission is to present information about Salem's sad past in a way that kids can understand, without freaking them out. As a history teacher, we do have to confront tragic topics. But there is a way to let kids know about these things that is appropriate and at a "just right" level. Our guide was great with kids, she was engaged and interactive with them. My kiddo thoroughly enjoyed the stories. My other kiddo was shy but guide the still inclusive. If you’re not looking to walk miles this one is good for you. Kids (ours and others) fuzziness was handled well by the guide.
