Salem Kids Slightly Spooky Tour

Overview
This tour combines true tales from Salem’s past with some mild ghost stories just for kids age 6+. Our aim is not to scare the heck out of your kids, but to provide a little shiver and bit of mystery for kids who like ghost stories. We are also telling you intriguing historical facts as well. This tour follows a route that is near the downtown, but it’s a little off the beaten path, very picturesque, and you’ll feel as if you stepped back in time. The tour ends at our historic and creepy Broad Street Cemetery, which was established in 1655. Meets at 316 Essex Street.
For over twelve years, parents traveling with kids have chosen Salem Kids Tours for a fun, well-researched and fascinating trip through time. Many times we have heard from kids, “I didn’t want the tour to end.” Parents have described our tours as the highlight of their trip to Salem. We are happy to show you around. We love kids, we understand their unique needs, and we look forward to meeting you on one of our tours.

We went to Salem in September, 2024 and had an awesome time. This tour was great for my 9 year old daughter as she got to learn about Salem without the scary parts. The tour was informative and geared towards the children. My daughter said that she wished she was in Alicia's class because she'd be a good teacher. It's been a few months, and my daughter still remembers what she learned from the tour. I highly recommend this tour. My 17 yr old son also enjoyed the tour despite it being geared towards a younger crowd. Alicia was friendly and kept the kids engaged in learning the history of the town.

Hi and thank you so very much for this review. I am glad to read that your daughter learned so much. It's my mission to get kids hooked on history. Also, so glad to read that your son enjoyed it, too! Happy Haunting!

We had a great time! I look forward to adding this to our annual Salem trip as my kids enjoyed it so much! The tour guide was fantastic and funny. She was very knowledgeable and the content was entertaining for the kids and adults. The time was so perfect as the sun was going down right as we made the last stop at the cemetery which gave a great spooky Halloween vibe. Her gesture of having a surprise for the kids at the end also showed me how much she loves what she does which made it even better! Thank you! We look forward to seeing you again! (My pictures wouldn’t load for some reason but they came out great!)

We had such a wonderful tour with Alicia. She knew how to keep the kids engaged, sharing lots of information about Salem’s history in a way that was not too overwhelming. She was kind and funny and everyone in our group of 3 Moms and 7 kids aged 5-10 enjoyed it. Highly recommend!
