Me and my girlfriend booked speed boat adventures the night before arriving in San Diego. Our tour guide Tommy was brilliant, my girlfriend was very nervous,and Tommy made her feel relaxed and calm. The speed boats carry 2people and feel very safe and secure....now to the best part, actually having your own speed boat is so unbelievably cool. Our guide Tommy gave us plenty of room to explore and test out the capabilities of the seed boat. Basically once you get the hang of the boats the guide speeds away in his boat to the next attraction and let's you floor it on your boat ti catchup and zip & zag on the water. My girlfriend particularly loved the stop at the live bait attraction as there were lots of seals which swim right up to your boat allowing you to take some stunning pictures. Towards the end of the of the tour the guide let's you rip it on the waves where the boat and get some great air time :). I would definitely recommend this to anyone both adventurous and non adventurous types.

My husband and I were in San Diego for a portion of our honeymoon and wanted to find a fun, unique activity and we succeeded with the San Diego Speed Boat tour! It was very affordable and a ton of fun! You get your own speedboat and simply follow behind the guide who communicates via a two-way radio. You are given a whole new perspective on San Diego and its surrounding areas. The tour was a blast and it was awesome to have your own little boat to be completely in control. Don't be afraid if you have no boating experience- none if required! One of the most amazing parts of the ride was stopping near the live bait barge and seeing dozens of sea lions lounging in the sun and swimming all around your boat! Definitely a must-do while in San Diego!

The tour was just great. I don't like being on a big cattle boat or bus with some drone tour guide. Boooring... With SDSBA the both of us laughed almost the entire time and driving our own speed boat out on the open water? Man, it was like being in Miami Vice ! ahhh..., the freedom. In the other boat we were with, there was a 83 year old grandfather and his 13 year old grand daughter; and she even got to drive ! What bonding for them. The experience and the amount of smiles and laughs was fantastic. This is a San Diego must do.
