With 30 years of teaching experience, a NM Level 2 Art Teaching license, 10 years of experience as the founder and executive director of the Tarnoff Art Center(a 501c3) based here in the Santa fe area, and the current co-owner of Artful Soul Creative Experiences in Downtown Santa Fe, Laura brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to her classes. As she is dedicated to guiding students on their artistic journey . Laura graduated from the American Academy of Art in Chicago, where she underwent a rigorous academic art education. Her disciplined training included studying the human figure and mastering various traditional art mediums such as pastels, oil painting, watercolors, pen and ink, and much more. Laura's own artwork is a testament to her vibrant and painterly style, ranging from tight realism to wild non-objective abstractions. Known for her "Figurative Abstractions," Laura infuses her work with emotionally charged colors, figurative distortions, and expressive brushstrokes.

Highly recommend these folks to visitors and locals both. My wife and I are local to Santa Fe. We took Laura and Mickey's "Mimosas and Masterpieces" class. I was a complete beginner, my wife a bit more experienced. Laura and Mickey are great teachers. They were patient with a beginner, and highly creative. This isn't a cheesy 'drink and paint' class - by the time we were done, we both had paintings we are happy to hang up and show off. The mimosas were good also... The photo below was from the Colorful Pet Portraits with Mickey Bond. She taught us a few different ways to use mixed media and photo transfers to create those paintings.

A must do if you visit Santa Fe!! Laura did an amazing job teaching my friends how to paint when we visited Santa Fe with friends. Pink Moon over water by Georgia O'keefe. She is kind, compassionate and is a great encouraging teacher. I had no artistic ability but was pleased with my painting.

My wife Linda, twin cousins with their spouses were able to spend some time in Sante Fe, New Mexico. Finally able to take our dear childhood friends painting class with low expectations on performance but high expectations on fun. I was absolutely blown away by the experience, Laura is a truly great teacher and can get non painter’s like me to actually paint something that amazed me. If any of you are in Sante Fe I highly recommend you give this a try. You too will be amazed. My wife, cousins and their spouses came away with the same feelings. The area is awesome too, a trip there is definitely worth it. THANKS LAURA FOR AN EXPERIENCE I WILL REMEMBER EVERY TIME I SEE MY MASTERPIECE!!
