We really enjoyed the highlights of architectural symbols, Savannah history and fun, spicy side stories surrounding some of the famous "residents". Azaleas and dogwoods were in full bloom. Breathtaking!

What a wonderful morning this was. The cemetery was resplendent with blooming azaleas, and Shannon led us on an intriguing 2-hour walk. We learned about the history of Savannah, the lives and accomplishments of a dozen or more "inhabitants" of the cemetery, the famous sculptors and their methods for creating the statues and headstones, Freemasonry and other spiritual practices, meanings of the symbols carved into stones and worked into the iron gates, burial procedures, the role of the cemetery (as park and playground) in the late 19th century, and the history of the cemetery itself. Shannon is the best tour guide I have ever encountered on any tour, anywhere. His storytelling is amusing, moving, and engrossing, and we spent the rest of the day talking about what we had experienced and looking up more about the many topics discussed during our tour. Don't miss this tour.

Truly amazing! I felt like I was with my coolest professor from college. We were really amazed at all the great information and how it was presented in such an interesting way. Our favorite part of the trip!!!o
