We went on the First Squares tour on May 7th at 11:15 am. My mom and I were on a Mother's day escape and we had so much fun. Deshawn was our tour guide, and after going on several group tours we were quick to learn that the tour guide can make or break the tour, and he was the best tour guide ever! He was friendly, knowledgeable and patient. I loved listening to his stories about Savannah. The food was delicious, especially the shrimp and grits from 22 Square and the mojitos from Mint to be Mojito. We also enjoyed the Mint to be Bubbly champagne bar that has a secret entrance behind a bookcase at the back of Mint to be Mojito. We went back there later for chocolate covered strawberries and champagne.
This is a walking tour, and there is meat served at most stops, so if you have vegan or vegetarian needs, you should call the company first to discuss.
It's food tasting, not full sit down meals, you will not be stuffed at the end.
Also, Covid still exists and most places require a mask until you are sitting down, something that some of the group struggled with, one woman stating that she is from Iowa and they don't have to deal with masks! She caused a little scene trying to find her mask and then not wearing it, but she was to blame for her behavior, not the tour company.
Don't hesitate to book this tour, and request Deshawn. Whatever they are paying him is not enough so remember to tip generously.
