I had wanted to do a horseback ride in Sedona, but I wasn't able to find a tour that worked with my schedule. This tour was rated well, so I decided to book it. It wasn't bad by any means but wasn't great. Just okay.
Camp Verde is a desert, so the terrain was plain. I would have been fine with that if the tour guides had been engaging. They were nice, don't get me wrong. Only one of three talked though. He made some jokes and gave a few facts, but other than that it was quiet. If the terrain had been beautiful and serene, I would have wanted quiet. But it was desert and close to the highway, so I would have rather been given facts about the area, the town, facts about all the horses we were riding, and the history of the ranch since there wasn't much of anything to look at.
As someone who has been around horses before, the horses seemed pretty well taken care of. One of the guides said the horses work one day, and then three days off. Some of them, like the one I was riding, just seemed really tired and over it lol. My horse had his head down low the entire time, but some others seemed more energized. All in all, it was okay. I love being around horses and riding, so it satiated that. Just wish there had been more "oomph" to the experience.
