Great instructor. First time surfers (teens)...excellent location offered up for beginners. Parents walked around Lahaina, shopped, went to a restaurant for drinks while boys had a lesson, then able to watch them show off their skills on the waves. Definitely recommend this surf shop.

My husband and I have been wanting to surf for YEARS, but living in Michigan kind of kills that dream, so when we decided to go to Maui for our Honeymoon, it was the very first thing we set up. Freddy was our instructor, and right off the bat, we both felt extremely comfortable with him. They provide you with water shoes, wet shirt, and Surf Board. THEY OFFER A PHOTOGRAPHY SERVICE, which we did not realize until we were done, and a huge regret in not purchasing that, so my advice is to take advantage of that service. After doing some training on the beach, I gained confidence almost immediately, I don't know if it was all of my excitement, but getting up on that board and actually RIDING A WAVE (BRO) , was THE COOLEST and one of the most freeing experiences I've had. The feeling of accomplishment is real. It also helps that the people surfing around you get just as excited and cheer you on. I'm tearing up and smiling writing this review, thinking about my experience and a memory I will never forget. My husband and I are pretty healthy and work out multiple times a week, so that helped, although my husband got pretty wiped out from just paddling. It's definitely a work out, but DO NOT LET THAT DISCOURAGE YOU, because the experience is 100% worth it. Plus you probably won't actually feel anything until later that day LOL. Freddy was there to help me every step of the way with clear instructions to follow. He also was cool enough to let me paddle out further to see if I could handle the bigger waves. Don't forget to take a moment and just sit there taking in all the beauty that surrounds you. I remember doing that, myself, and saying out loud, "wow." Do not pass up this opportunity, even if you just have a smidge of interest.

Hey Hooked, We couldn't of written a better description of the experience then you just did. It takes a little extra effort to paddle out after a few, but you want one more wave even though you are exhausted. Thanks for the great review, we look forward to the next time!
