Truly, one of the best and most authentic experiences you will have in New Orleans! My husband and I were in New Orleans for the first time ever for our 15th wedding anniversary, and while we heard so much about the amazing local cuisine, we were not expecting to be so blown away by this hidden gem of an experience! Mr. Gregory, the host is an absolute delight, and quite a character… Not only does he cook this entire delicious multi-course meal by himself based on his grandmothers native-to-the-land recipes but he intersperses each course with information about the ingredients, where they were sourced, his relationships with the local fisherman, history of the city, and how current events impact food sources… all presented with a charming, quirky, delightful, and no-nonsense personality. While you dine, you will be serenaded by local musician who genuinely love what they do and perform from the bottom of their souls providing sounds that can only be created my truly authentic artists. The dining space is extremely informal with two long tables, side-by-side, so be prepared to sit with strangers and share an intimate and immersive family style experience. The only thing that I would nitpick is that once dessert is over, and the time runs out, you are immediately pushed out and asked to leave abruptly. No time for mingling. it was just a bit jarring, especially considering the true southern hospitality and family connected type of experience. We had the rest of the time. Also, it is a bit pricey compared to other meals you may have in the city but to be honest the experience overall was worth every penny. You will regret missing this. An absolute must!
