We took a friend & her husband to celebrate her "Big 60", and we all had a blast. We boarded at 11 a.m. & the buffet opened well before our noon departure so we were able to eat & still be outdoors for the majority of the cruise. The buffet is open for some time, so you will not go hungry. The DJ made a great recommendation, let the food line die down--there was barely a line maybe 20 minutes after it opened but even in the line, everyone was patient & happy.
Our fantastic waitress took great care of us and made the birthday girl's day even nicer with a birthday greeting & special dessert (that she tracked us down for up on deck to deliver!) The food was delicious, the views were awesome and the trip was an overall success. We noticed that everyone working on the cruise actually seemed to like being there which directly impacts how you feel as a guest--they did a great job.
There have been so many changes over the last few years in Boston, and this adventure allowed us to see it all from the the water, just amazing. Bring your camera (if you don't have a smartphone) and if the weather looks iffy, a disposable rain poncho if you like being outside. If you prefer to be inside, that was great too--the DJ was fun and had people of all ages dancing including a a lady dancing from her walker, she was thrilled! The ship was clean including the rest rooms. The only downside I can think of was the proximity of the tables but they are movable so we were able to adapt quickly when needed to accommodate seating at our table and the one behind us.
This was a great experience, and we will be back.
