Once docked at the Sitka port, you won't have to go far to see this area's abundant natural beauty and wildlife! This 3-hour shore excursion starts right at the cruise port dock and includes a sightseeing cruise and then a 1.5-hour kayak tour through the magnificent waters of the Sitka Sound, part of the Gulf of Alaska. During your tour, spot some of the wildlife that Sitka is known for, including bald eagles and harbor seals. From the water, you may even see black-tailed deer and brown bears!

Embark on a memorable adventure when you climb aboard our motorized, custom-built inflatable vessel for an exciting sightseeing tour en route to our floating base camp. Your knowledgeable captain will scan the sea for wildlife, including whales, and identify points of interest along the way.

At our floating base camp, you'll receive instruction on the safe use of ocean-going, two-person kayaks. These stable yet maneuverable crafts let you enjoy the beauty of the protected bays and inlets near Sitka from a serene, natural perspective. An experienced guide, well versed in paddling techniques and the marine environment of the area, will lead groups of up to six kayaks. Each of the waterways traveled holds unique attractions, whether colorful intertidal invertebrates, an eagle swooping from the treetops, or the grandeur of the lush rainforest. You may even see a brown bear, harbor seals, or a Sitka black-tailed deer.

My husband and I had a GREAT time! The crew were all friendly and wanted you to have the best time. Don't need to be a great kayaker, they will show you all you need. The hot chowder and snacks after were also amazing. We even had a seal come right up to the boat!

This was the perfect cruise ship excursion as we were able to see the remote areas of Sitka close up while getting some much needed exercise at the same time. I loved that our group was small (3 double kayaks) and Garrett was an excellent tour guide. He made sure we were suited up properly and went over safety instructions before getting in the water. We saw some wild life - eagles, seals & sea otters, and that was fine with us as it was great just paddling through some 3-4 foot swells and then through some incredibly serene and peaceful areas. We stopped near a lagoon at one point to enjoy homemade cookies prepared by one of the company owners - best peanut butter cookie ever! Then we paddled further down a river like setting and stopped at a beach for lunch. We were then picked up by boat and brought back to the dock. It was truly a memorable adventure that I would repeat again if ever am back in Sitka since apparently no tour is ever the same and there are dozens of routes to explore.

4 friends enjoyed the relaxed attitudes of Rob, Oliver, & Conner on a beautiful day to kayak near Sitka. Great fun seeing humpback whales, bald eagles, seals, and a sea otter up close. They seemed entertained around our kayaks too. Floating base camp and hot chowder with cider were the icing on the cake.
