As Harley enthusiasts, we have been looking forward to an opportunity to visit this museum. We finally made it happen this summer, and it was even better than I anticipated. Between the museum, lunch, and the gift shop, we were here for five hours but could easily have spent another hour or two taking in all of the historical information provided in the displays. We opted out of the audio tour but felt like we got a full experience even without that. My husband especially enjoyed the displays focusing on the various motors and the military (H-D involvement in WW1 and WW2), and I found the military and the displays focusing on the buy-back from AMF to be particularly interesting, along with the endurance racing section. We also loved the wall of gas tanks showing a timeline of color schemes and graphics. Honestly, it was all amazing. Since I am the passenger on our Harley, I was particularly intrigued by the bikes on display that you could sit on to get a feel for what it is like to be in the rider's position. They have this year's model of the bike that we ride, so I got more of an appreciation for what my husband sees from his seat.
I feel like there is something here for everyone, and that H-D enthusiasts should invest several hours to get the most from this location.
